Forklift Repair Technician (In-house)- Willow Grove

Arbor Material Handling is seeking qualified candidates for an In-House Forklift Repair Technician position that will focus on servicing Arbor’s Rental and Renewed fleets in our Willow Grove, PA facility. Responsibilities in this role will center on performing scheduled maintenance, safety inspections, quoted repairs and identifying damage. A secondary role for this position will be support of shipping/receiving functions as well as continuous improvement initiatives.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Forklift Shop Technician duties

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain forklifts.
  • Maintain a log of completed work and provide concise and accurate notes describing the work performed.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that all customer orders are prepped and ready for shipment by the expected date.
  • Manage multiple work orders simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.
  • Communicate with Rental/Renewed departments regarding any issues that will prevent timely completion of assigned work orders; apply critical thinking/problem solving skills to create a win-win outcome for Arbor and the customer.

Additional Duties

  • Assist with shipping/receiving as needed.
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing forklifts are properly tagged, labeled and stored in the appropriate location.
  • Maintain warehouse and designated work area clean, organized and free of any hazards.
  • Comply with all company and OSHA safety policies and regulations.
  • Interact with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent mechanical skills and basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic computer skills which include use of Microsoft Outlook email, internal systems and web applications
  • Understanding of basic mechanical operations relating to warehouse equipment – forklifts, loading dock, automatic doors, shelving, inventory bins, etc.
  • Ability and aptitude to learn company systems and applications relating to work tasks (specific systems training will be provided)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability and aptitude to learn company systems and applications relating to work tasks (specific systems training will be provided)
  • Ability to remain focused while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of warehouse organization and materials management, aisle and work area markings, safety measures
  • Ability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs. and above as needed
  • Knowledge of basic shipping and receiving tasks such as packing, labeling, receiving documents, contacting shipping providers
  • Flexibility and mobility sufficient to walk and/or stand on a continual basis, to stoop or reach 3 feet above the head and 3 feet laterally, and to climb ladders and stairs
  • Availability to work overtime when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience working as a repair technician; forklift experience highly preferred.
  • Confident computer skills are required; training on job-related applications will be provided
  • Clean driving record; MVR report will be required for employment
  • Arbor Material Handling, Inc. is a drug-free workplace; employment is contingent on passing
